The National Exhibition and Convention Center was bustling with crowds, and Hall 6.1, as the core venue of the Industrial Automation Exhibition, was packed even more tightly. Siemens, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth, Delta... all these giant manufacturers in the industrial field were present, and every booth was crowded with engineers, procurement staff, and industry visitors. And in this venue "gathered with giants," EDATEC, together with CODESYS, appeared at Booth 6.1H D011.

EDATEC is the largest official global design partner of Raspberry Pi and an authorized distributor in Greater China, having deeply cultivated industrial Raspberry Pi hardware R&D for more than ten years. CODESYS is a leader in the global industrial automation software field. The two sides jointly exhibited this time, playing the combination card of "industrial software + industrial hardware + open-source ecosystem" — deeply adapting CODESYS's full-stack industrial software capabilities with EDATEC's industrial Raspberry Pi hardware at the underlying level, enabling Raspberry Pi to truly land in standard IEC industrial control scenarios.

EDATEC brought all the real machines to the site!

EDATEC x CODESYS Hardware-Software Integrated Joint Solution

A hardware-software integrated joint solution based on Raspberry Pi and CODESYS. It supports CODESYS wireless program download, CAN bus analysis, WiFi dual-mode access, Web page management, 4G remote tunnel, and signed OTA firmware upgrade, enabling on-site and remote PLC debugging and device operation and maintenance.

A Brand-New Solution Based on Raspberry Pi CM0

Since the release of CM0, various use cases have emerged one after another: smart homes, retro game consoles, and even cat food feeders. There are also those using CM0 to build industrial-grade PLCs. As an important member of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module family, CM0 combines a mature software ecosystem with compact hardware design, providing device manufacturers with a more flexible embedded development approach.

32-Axis Synchronous Motion Control Demonstration Solution

This is one of the most technically advanced demos on the entire booth. Raspberry Pi CM5 + CODESYS drives 32-axis synchronous motion control, a real scenario on the industrial site, not a PPT demonstration. CODESYS's real-time control capability plus CM5's computing performance — motion control, industrial protocols, real-time performance, these "hard-to-talk-about" issues on the industrial site now have a deployable answer here.

From Gateways to HMIs to Smart Cameras, Full-Line Real-Machine Demonstrations

Industrial IoT gateways: indoor and outdoor multi-form products, adapted to different environments, building edge IoT collection and transmission links.

Industrial HMIs: multi-size human-machine interfaces, supporting SCADA scenarios, ready for direct on-site operation.

Industrial smart cameras: based on multiple platforms of Raspberry Pi CM0/CM4/CM5, oriented toward machine vision and high-speed image processing scenarios.

Multiple forms, rich interfaces, stable and rugged, industrial computers based on Raspberry Pi!

There is also a local AI inference demo: Raspberry Pi 5 paired with a Realtek Matrix NPU expansion board and a 15.6-inch industrial monitor, running completely offline, demonstrating on site human recognition, photo retrieval, meeting recording transcription, and to-do extraction. No networking, no cloud — AI runs locally on the device.

The CIIF has ended, but the test on this path has just begun. What truly determines how far Raspberry Pi can go on the industrial site is not how beautifully the demos ran on the booth, but in the coming year, how many of those solutions taken away from the booth can truly be installed into devices and run on production lines. That booth where EDATEC and CODESYS stood side by side may be remembered, but what is more worth watching is the footprints left after it.
