The ED-IPC3020E is an industrial-grade computer based on the Raspberry Pi 5. Its metal enclosure acts as a large heatsink, delivering fanless passive cooling that keeps the CPU running at full speed without throttling from -25°C to 50°C. An external Wi-Fi antenna addresses signal attenuation caused by the metal chassis, improving signal strength by ~16 dB on average in measured tests. The board also expands on the Pi 5 feature set with RS232, RS485, and audio input/output, plus optional PoE power and M.2 NVMe SSD. It is well suited for industrial control, data acquisition, edge computing, and similar applications.

External Antenna Design Resolves Signal Attenuation in Metal Enclosures
Metal enclosures weaken the Wi-Fi signal from an onboard antenna. The ED-IPC3020E routes the antenna outside the enclosure through an IPEX connector and comes standard with a 2dBi rubber duck antenna, fundamentally improving signal quality.

Measured on 7 channels in the 2.4GHz band and 9 channels in the 5GHz band
