The Raspberry Pi team and the founders of EDATEC join forces at Maker Faire 2024 in Shenzhen!

New technology continues to accelerate, making our lives change drastically.AI is the big buzzword this year, ChatGPT, Apple Intelligence, AI cell phones, AI glasses and so on, an endless stream of new models and new products. Everyone is talking about AI, which is like a wrench that can pry the future of technology.

So the question is, have all the creators around the world applied AI technology to their project solutions? And how can we utilize AI technology to help major industries produce and increase efficiency?

The theme of Maker Faire in Shenzhen on November 16, 2024 is “Everything can be AI”, which aims to focus on the AI hardware innovation group and show the rich possibilities of the integration of AI and various industries. As long as the idea is open, everything can be AI. on the road to embrace AI, creators continue to innovate and create.

The Raspberry Pi team and the founders of EDATEC joined hands in this summit! Raspberry Pi has once again become the focus of the exhibition with its innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of technology.

As the largest design partner and distributor of Raspberry Pi in the world, EDATEC is committed to bringing the most cutting-edge embedded technology and innovative design to users around the world. In this exhibition, Raspberry Pi and EDATEC team discussed the infinite possibilities of technological innovation with the creators. With the core concept of “Creating Value for Customers”, EDATEC has always been helping technology dreams come true and promoting the development of intelligent future! We are looking forward to working with you to create more wonderful!

Raspberry Pi's main exhibit

Raspberry Pi AI Camera

The Raspberry Pi AI Camera, introduced by Raspberry Pi at this Maker Faire, is a high-performance camera with an integrated AI gas pedal. It utilizes a Sony IMX500 image sensor and is capable of running a variety of popular neural network models with low power consumption and low latency, unlocking the potential of the Raspberry Pi processor to handle other tasks simultaneously.

Key features include:

12 MP Sony IMX500 Intelligent Vision Sensor with a powerful neural network accelerator
Sensor modes: 4056x3040 at 10fps / 2028x1520 at 40fps
1.55 um x 1.55 um cell size
76 degree FoV with manual/mechanical adjustable focus
Integrated RP2040 for neural network firmware management
Works with all Raspberry Pi models, using only our standard camera connector cable

The AI Camera is capable of connecting to all models of Raspberry Pi, including the Raspberry Pi Zero, using a regular camera ribbon cable.Utilizing Sony's suite of AI tools, it is possible to convert existing neural network models using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch to run efficiently on the AI Camera.

Raspberry Pi AI Kit

The Raspberry Pi AI Kit is another stellar Raspberry Pi product that bundles the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ with the Hailo AI Acceleration Module, designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5. The AI Kit delivers an easy-to-access, cost-effective, and energy-efficient high-performance AI integration solution.

AI module features include:
Neural network inference gas pedal with 13 trillion operations per second
M.2 2242 form factor
Pre-installed thermal pad between module and M.2 HAT+ for improved performance
Compliant with Raspberry Pi HAT+ specification
Comes with 16mm stacking connectors, spacer posts, and screws to support Raspberry Pi active heatsinks to dissipate heat for Raspberry Pi 5 and AI modules

Each AI kit comes pre-installed with the AI module, ribbon cable, GPIO stacking connectors and mounting hardware. Completing a simple operation installs the AI kit, making it a powerful extension to the Raspberry Pi 5.

Raspberry Pi Pico 2

At Maker Faire, Raspberry Pi also showcased the Raspberry Pi Pico 2, their next-generation microcontroller board utilizing the RP2350 chip. The Pico 2 offers significant performance and feature enhancements while maintaining hardware and software compatibility with the Pico family of products.

Key features include:

Dual Arm Cortex-M33 or dual Hazard3 RISC-V processors running at up to 150MHz
520KB on-chip SRAM and 4MB on-board flash memory
Drag-and-drop programming using mass storage via USB
2 UARTs, 2 SPI controllers, 2 I2C controllers
24 PWM channels, 3 ADC channels
