Embedded World China 2024 was a complete success!
The three-day Embedded World China 2024 has been successfully concluded! At this exhibition, EDATEC, the Raspberry Pi, and the industrial automation software leader CODESYS collectively made appearances, bringing an impressive visual and auditory feast to the audience. At the exhibition site, the Raspberry Pi team presented the latest Raspberry Pi AI Kit scenario demonstrations, attracting a large number of visitors. EDATEC showcased a series of solutions based on Raspberry Pi and CODESYS, which were highly recognized by the participants. Many industrial enterprise representatives on-site showed keen interest in these cutting-edge technology solutions, hoping to apply them to their own digital transformation processes.
1.Six-axis robot vision solution based on Raspberry Pi CM4
This is an intelligent manufacturing solution based on embedded technology, integrating EDATEC's high-speed AI camera, a six-axis robot, EDATEC'S 15.6" HMI human-machine interface, and EtherCAT remote I/O modules. The AI camera and HMI are both powered by the Raspberry Pi CM4, enabling real-time image capture and processing, as well as object localization and other intelligent functions. The six-axis robot is controlled by the HMI via the standard EtherCAT fieldbus, allowing for flexible execution of complex mechanical operations. This system aims to replace labor-intensive tasks in smart factories, significantly improving production automation and efficiency, demonstrating the broad application potential of embedded technology in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

3.16-axis Motion Control Solution based on Raspberry Pi 5 and CODESYS
This embedded system solution based on the Raspberry Pi 5 integrates 16 stepper motors controlled by the EtherCAT bus, aiming to achieve high-performance multi-axis motion control. The Raspberry Pi 5 serves as the core controller, and through the CODESYS technology, it supports the standard industrial EtherCAT fieldbus, achieving a bus cycle of 1ms and a bus jitter of less than 50 microseconds, meeting the requirements of high real-time and synchronization.This integrated embedded solution with multi-axis motion control functionality is applicable to industrial automation, robotic arms, 3D printing, and other applications that require precise synchronous control, demonstrating the broad application prospects of embedded technology in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

4.Raspberry Pi AI Kit Scene Demo
The Raspberry Pi team has introduced their latest release, the Raspberry Pi AI Kit. The Raspberry Pi AI kit comes bundled with the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ and the Hailo-8L 13 TOPS AI acceleration module, designed to be used in conjunction with the Raspberry Pi 5.This AI kit provides an economical and low-power way to access high-performance AI capabilities. It can be applied in areas such as process control, cybersecurity, home automation, and robotics. The AI kit comes pre-installed with Raspberry Pi's camera software, and the rpicam-apps camera application will automatically utilize the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) to run compatible post-processing tasks.
